Best Country Bottling Operation Best Country Bottling Operation

The Coca‑Cola Eurasia and Africa Sustainability Awards recognise the outstanding performance of Coca‑Cola bottling companies in environmental practices, quality management, safety performance and positive contributions to local communities.

All Coca‑Cola bottling plants in 84 countries across Eurasia and Africa are automatically included in the assessment. The awards are judged by an international group of experts composed of recognised sustainability leaders and senior leaders of The Coca‑Cola Company.

Coca‑Cola HBC Belarus was selected as one of the 10 finalists by the jury, based on an assessment of the entire bottling operation in the country. All 10 nominees then had the opportunity to present their sustainability achievements to the jury.

The jury assessment focused on the contribution made to the sustainability of local communities through programmes on active healthy living, education, public health, youth development, women’s empowerment, community recycling, social events, water stewardship, emergency relief and other charitable activities. The winners of the three Excellence Awards and the Grand Prize were identified by the jury assessment scores and operational scores, each of which contributed half of the final score.

Further awards for Coca‑Cola HBC Belarus

As well as the Grand Prize, Coca‑Cola HBC Belarus also took the Excellence Award in the World category for achievements in environmental care. This was the third time in a row Belarus had won this award, unprecedented in the history of the contest. In 2015 Coca‑Cola HBC Belarus managed to reach the Coca‑Cola HBC Group’s 2020 target of reducing CO2 emissions by 25% compared to 2010. The jury was also impressed by the results of its Let’s save Yelnya together! project, as the amount of water replenished within the project is about 20 times more than the amount of water used by the entire Coca‑Cola HBC Group annually.

In addition, Coca‑Cola HBC Belarus took one of four awards for outstanding performance in 2015. Its Minsk plant was recognised as the most improved plant in the quality category. The results were based on an assessment of the quality KPI improvement of bottling plants.

Coca‑Cola HBC Belarus has been one of the top three leaders in these awards for the last three years, taking the Excellence Award in the Environment category in 2014, 2015 and 2016, and the Grand Prize in 2014 as well.
